Brewers come back in the 9th then walk it off in the 10th, a breakdown

What Happened

In the bottom of the ninth inning of the home opener, the Milwaukee Brewers trail the Minnesota Twins by 3 runs. Brewers pitcher Trevor Gott is on the mound, trying to hold the deficit and secure the win for the Twins. Gott records the first out, bringing the Brewers one step closer to defeat. However, the next Brewers batter, Rowdy Tellez, is hit by a pitch, reaching base and putting the tying run on. The umpires review the play and it's determined that the ball did indeed hit Tellez's hand, keeping him on first base. With one out and a runner on, Brewers manager Craig Counsell decides to pinch-hit MVP candidate Christian Yelich. Yelich steps to the plate, ready to make a difference. He takes a big swing at the first pitch but comes up empty. The next pitch, however, Yelich absolutely crushes, sending a deep fly ball to right field. Twins outfielder Max Kepler makes a valiant effort, but the ball eludes his glove, allowing two runs to score and tying the game at 3-3. The Twins finally record the second out, but the damage has been done. Brewers third baseman Travis Shaw then steps up and delivers a game-tying, two-run single, knotting the score at 3-3 and sending the game to extra innings. In the top of the 10th, the Twins put a runner on second base, as per the extra-inning rules. Brewers reliever Josh Hader, who was dominant in the previous inning, takes the mound. Twins outfielder Max Kepler hits a ground ball up the middle and Brewers speedster Tyrone Taylor scores the go-ahead run from second base, giving the Twins a 4-3 lead. In the bottom of the 10th, the Brewers have their chance. Keston Hiura, the runner placed on second base, advances to third on a groundout. Pinch-hitter Omar Narváez then delivers the game-winning single, scoring Hiura and completing the Brewers' incredible comeback. The Brewers win 5-4 in a thrilling home opener.
