Darcy Kuemper drops Matthew Tkachuk in Flames and Coyotes fight, a breakdown
What Happened
In a heated clash between the Calgary Flames and the Arizona Coyotes, tensions boil over as a wild brawl breaks out on the ice. It begins with Goodrow and Demers tangling up behind the net, exchanging some rough physical play before Demers delivers an elbow to Goodrow's face. The altercation escalates as the two players meet up again, with Demers taking out Goodrow's legs and throwing him to the ground. Matthew Tkachuk of the Flames then enters the fray, immediately becoming a target. Coyotes goaltender Darcy Kuemper makes a surprising move, aggressively grabbing Tkachuk and body-slamming him to the ice. Tkachuk responds by swinging at Kuemper and a full-blown melee ensues with multiple players involved. Kuemper continues his onslaught, dropping an additional Flames player who tries to intervene. The crowd in the arena is clearly entertained by the chaos, with some spectators cheering enthusiastically while others seem more perplexed by the shenanigans on the ice. Tkachuk eventually disengages and heads to the locker room as the period comes to a close, while Kuemper stands alone, surveying the aftermath of the brawl he initiated. The physical altercation between the Flames and Coyotes showcases the intensity and rivalry that can erupt during heated NHL matchups. With the score likely close and tensions running high, the players on both sides are willing to drop the gloves and engage in a full-scale fight, much to the delight of the crowd. Kuemper's uncharacteristic aggression in targeting Tkachuk was a surprising and defining moment in the melee, ultimately sparking the larger brawl and capturing the attention of everyone in the arena.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentWe had a nice, fun brawl between the Calgary Flames. Arizona Coyotes starts here.
We got Goodrow and Demers, JD. They were getting tangled up a little bit. Nothing
too bad. Speed up a little bit, and now they meet up again behind the
net. He goes for that. It gets an elbow to the face. Here's a close
-up. Goes for the cross -check. Ends up getting an elbow to the face. Goodrow's
like, shit, that sucked. Demers didn't even really notice, but he kind of did because
then they meet up a third time right here, and Goodrow's got the puck, dumps
it out, and then JD is just going to take his feet out, puts the
hand on the shoulder, skate behind the skate, and just throws him to the ground.
I say that goes under the category of not cool. So Goodrow comes up, cross
-checks him. Now he stays on the ice like a little baby, and he's like,
get up, baby. Just quit selling it. Kachuk comes up, and then the goalie, he
goes off. He goes full. Did you guys see this? Let me go back. So
they're like, get up, baby. Quit selling it. And he goes, the goalie goes full
face grab and body slam to Kachuk. Ooh, kind of fun.
Kind of fucked up. And then he's dropping everybody. Kachuk gets up. He's swinging. Got
a four -guy stack right there. That's kind of fun. Number five comes in. The
goalie drops him. Kachuk finds his opening. The next goalie comes in because he's like,
hey, if goalies are involved, then I'm going to be fucking involved. That's how this
works. And then Kachuk's got the goalie wrapped up. He's going to throw a punch
there. It knocks him down. I don't think he actually really like landed a punch.
I think it was just momentum kind of going that way. But he's going to
act like he landed. Oh, yeah, you like that? And he's like soft. That goalie
looks like he's 10 years old, but I think he looked it up. Kemper, he's
29. Damn. Good for him, but really not. So Kachuk leaves. It's the end of
the period anyway. He's got to head out of there. Goalie's looking around like, okay,
that was fun. Should I have done that? This looks like the kid that shows
up to play pond hockey and you're like, dude, you're too young. This is a
high school only go back to middle school crowd. These guys are just loving it.
That's a weird crew of people just I don't like, okay, we have, we have
top left loving it. Earrings, dude, loving it. Lady, not impressed. Old man came to
watch some hockey. Not this shenanigans. This crowd though, all for it. Yes. Yes. How
was that? Pretty fun? Yeah, that was fun. Ah, da, da, da, da,
