The Titans win the division on a Game-Winning Field Goal from Rookie Kicker, a breakdown
What Happened
The Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans are locked in a close divisional battle, with the Titans trailing by three points late in the game. With just 22 seconds remaining, the Texans are set to tie the game with a field goal attempt. However, the Titans' defense has other plans, forcing the Texans to settle for the game-tying score and leaving 18 seconds on the clock. Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill takes the field, determined to lead his team to victory. He launches a deep pass downfield to wide receiver A.J. Brown, who makes a spectacular catch to put the Titans in field goal range. Rookie kicker Sam Sloman, whose own teammates didn't initially recognize him, trots onto the field with a chance to win the game and clinch the division title for the Titans. The crowd holds its collective breath as Sloman lines up for the game-winning attempt. The snap is good, the kick is up and it begins to twist and spin towards the uprights. The ball bounces off the post, but to the delight of the Titans faithful, it falls through the uprights, sealing a dramatic victory. The Titans' sideline erupts in celebration, with players and coaches alike jumping for joy. Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons and safety Kevin Byard, who had initially mistaken Sloman for a scout, now embrace their new kicker as a hero. Texans star J.J. Watt can only watch in disbelief, his hands on his head as he struggles to comprehend the outcome. Tannehill races onto the field, pumping his fist and high-stepping as he savors the moment. The water boy on the sideline joins in the revelry, first raising one hand in celebration before deciding a two-handed approach is more appropriate. It's a moment of pure elation for the Titans, who have secured the division title with this clutch performance. The final score of 34-31 in favor of the Titans is a testament to the team's resilience and the heroics of their rookie kicker, Sam Sloman. This game-winning field goal will be remembered as a highlight of the Titans' season and a testament to the unpredictable nature of the NFL.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentA lot of fun was had in the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans game. It's
a three -point game. Houston is about to tie it up with 22 seconds left.
This one's brought to you by DraftKings. Now the Houston Texans have scored on eight
of their last eight drives now to tie this game, making a mockery of the
Tennessee Titans defense. There's 18 seconds left. Surely this is going to go into overtime.
Titans are playing for the division. If they win, they win the division. Tannehill throws
it way deep, 50 yards in the air to A .J. Brown, who comes down
with it. That puts him in field goal range, and he's screaming
with excitement. Very excited. His teammate's going to
come and say, I'm excited too, man. Now the kicker's nodding his head on the
side. I'm like, oh yeah, I got this. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Get a
couple more yards from him if you want. Give the ball. Keep it on the
ground, but I'm good. I'm good. Now if you don't know that kicker's name, it's
Sam Sloman. And if you don't know his name, don't feel bad because his own
teammates didn't even know his name. Kevin Byard, a teammate of his, said, when we
were in practice and I saw him doing his kicks and stuff, honestly, I didn't
know who he was. Not to be funny or anything like that, but I thought
he might have been one of our scouts. Not a scout team player, a scout.
I didn't know that we had signed a new kicker. So he saw one look
at him and was like, oh, that's just one of our nerdy scouts messing around.
There's no way that dude is a professional athlete. Wrong. He's your new kicker and
he's about to be a hero. He cleans up after himself. You want to leave
things how you find them. Very respectable, Sam. Runs out and now this is his
second kick of the day. He made a 47 yarder earlier in this game, but
this one's a little bit bigger because it will win the game. It'll send them
to the playoffs as the division winners. Sam Sloman, here we go. Lines it up,
gets set, and they called timeout. Kick was good though, but they iced him. They
said, nah, we're going to make you think about this a little bit more. Sammy
Sloman lines it up again. And here we go. The crowd hushes and everyone's got
baited breath and the snap and he puts it down and a kick and it's
up and it's twisting and it's spinning and it's spinning. Oh no. It's heading towards
the upright and oh shit. Boink.
Is it going to stay? It is. It's good. Titans win the division. Sloman's a
hero. Blacklock celebrating, but dude, you're not allowed to celebrate. Sammy slow is, but he's
a little nervous. Did I hit the, oh shit. Okay. It's good. It's good. It's
good. It's good. It's good. All the celebrations on the sideline are really good because
it looked good and then it hits. So it's good. It's good. We're celebrating. Oh
no. Oh yes. A lot of that. A lot of that high stepping Tannehill's out
there. Can't believe it. He made it. Oh, we missed it. Oh shit.
Oh, he made it.
I like the water bottle guy on the right here. Cause he's like on the
right you got one hand up. He decides, no, you know what? This is a
two hand celebration. Screw the Gatorades, but the two in the middle pop out. And
now he's like, Oh my God, I shouldn't have done that. I got to pick
these guys up. Oh my God. JJ Watt can't believe it. Just cannot believe it
in disbelief. Can't believe it at all. And so, and just so much disbelief, pulling
his own hair out in disbelief. This one was brought to you by draft Kings.
