Tom Brady falls and trips player during botched trick play, a breakdown
What Happened
In a crucial third quarter matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, veteran quarterback Tom Brady attempts an ill-fated trick play that goes awry. With the Buccaneers leading 14-3 and facing a third-and-two situation, Brady takes the snap and immediately looks to execute a designed play, knowing exactly where he wants to go with the ball. The play involves Brady tossing the ball to a woman in the stands, with the intended receiver being another woman sitting next to her. As the first woman catches the pass, she gives a light push to the second woman, who then secures the catch. The sequence is described as "a really bizarre way to go about it" by the commentator, who notes the unusual nature of the play call. Following the successful completion of the trick play, the 40-year-old Brady is seen sprinting downfield, looking much like a rookie receiver trying to get open. However, the defense does not bite, and Brady is left wide open as he hands the ball off to the referee, smiling and acknowledging the failed attempt. Later in the same drive, Brady targets rookie Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolin with a successful pass, setting up a second-and-two situation. Attempting another trick play, Brady once again goes out as a receiver, but this time Woolin is ready and covers him tightly. As the ball is thrown to Brady, the veteran quarterback stumbles and falls, catching the pass but drawing a penalty for tripping. The commentator breaks down the issues with the play, noting that the Seahawks were not fooled, the pass to Brady was not great, and the veteran quarterback's slip and fall ultimately resulted in the penalty. Brady, seemingly unfazed, looks to the referee, high-fiving the crowd and downplaying the incident, suggesting he had baited the defense and that it was all part of the plan. Dejected, Brady grabs his jacket and bottle and heads to the sideline, as the Buccaneers continue their drive with the unusual play call and its consequences fresh in everyone's minds.

14 we're in the third quarter with 10 40
to go and it's third and two Brady gets
the snap knows exactly where he's going
they get the first down and these fans
high five over it and it's it's an odd
high five there's Packers fans but the
Packers aren't playing and watch this so
she throws it out up top to the to the
woman two away but middle woman she gets
a little touch and holds it there for
the other one she was intended they kind
of touch and then she pushes her like
let's make sure we hit and then gray
sweatshirt kind of is there for the
rebound to make sure it's all good in
the end they all got exactly what they
needed it was just a really bizarre way
to go about it speaking of bizarre
there's 40 year old Tom Brady running
out like he's a receiver rookie receiver
probably so much younger says don't even
worry about it not going to him and he's
right he's right they weren't going to
Tom Brady he was wide open because they
didn't cover him at all
they did pick up some yards he's got the
ball he's going to hand it to the ref
right he's going to run back and smile
and be like ah you didn't fall for it
that's our bad we'll never run that
again it was so it was so bad it didn't
even do anything later on in the drive
it's second and two and Brady's gonna go
to the rookie again Woolen and then it's
a little headstand behind the back
tossed to the ref first down cool stuff
now Brady's out there again look but
this time the rookies like I see you
this time I think I gotcha and they
throw it to Brady and Brady Falls and he
catches it and you know
I think the the Bucks thought they laid
the bait but I think Seattle in the end
laid the bait and then Brady's looking
at the ref he's getting high fives from
the crowd they love that he's like what
are you guys talking about it's nothing
bad right and they're like well after
the interception
tripping offense number 12. so not only
Brady slip and fall on the trick play he
also gets penalized for tripping because
at the end here that left leg it's kind
of In Motion there's the ankle just
giving out on him no support and then he
rolls it's kind of In Motion but a
little flick right there at the end and
they called him for it so the problem
with this play was threefold one they
didn't fall for it two wasn't a great
throw three Brady slipped and he's like
they wasn't throwing to me but I said
and I totally baited them and they're
like yeah dude yeah yeah yeah I was like
I'm gonna go this way and then I went
back and I covered I was like okay cool
cool we saw it man Brady fell and it's
right to you okay Brady gets his jacket
he gets his bottle and he goes to sleep
