Umps Deny Boones Replay and He Gets Mad At Them, A Breakdown
What Happened
In the top of the eighth inning, the Baltimore Orioles hold a 4-1 lead over the New York Yankees. With the bases loaded, Yankees outfielder Gleyber Torres steps up to the plate and delivers a hit to left field, scoring two runs to make it a 4-3 game. However, Yankees star outfielder Aaron Judge is thrown out at third base for the final out of the inning, leading to frustration on the Yankees' bench. Replays show that Judge may have been hit on the wrist by the tag and the Yankees want to challenge the call. Manager Aaron Boone heads out to speak with the umpires, hoping to get a replay review. As Boone is waiting to hear the umpires' decision, he can be heard saying, "Hey, we get a hold out," followed immediately by "That's it, time's out, you're done." Boone, hearing the umpires declare that the time to challenge has expired, immediately demands a replay review before his coaches can weigh in. However, the umpires deny his request, informing him that the time to challenge has indeed elapsed. A visibly upset Boone erupts, yelling, "You can't do that! You didn't even look at me! Fuck you, fuck the umpires!" He continues his tirade, saying, "It's not fucking Aaron, that's not what happened, Aaron. You know when it's time." Boone's anger boils over and he is ultimately ejected from the game. As he departs the field, he tosses his chewing gum in the direction of the umpires, exclaiming, "I'm out of here!" The Yankee dugout and fans at Yankee Stadium are left stunned by the heated exchange between Boone and the umpiring crew. Despite the Yankees' efforts to mount a comeback, the Orioles hold on to their 4-3 lead, handing the Yankees a tough defeat. The loss is particularly frustrating for the Yankees, who felt they were denied a fair opportunity to challenge the critical play at third base in the eighth inning.

you can see on the replay here that he
kind of gets some on the wrist there
from other angles you can see that
he does make contact with them there and
both feet are
up so judge is out at third they're not
going to win that
review but they also have to review
whether dj
scored before the tag was made because
they ruled it that the tag happened
before dj scored and you can see this is
really close like uh dj comes down there
and who knows if the tag is made on
judge and they don't have a lot of
angles but we didn't see a lot of angles
because they didn't
review it but anyway boone has to decide
if they're gonna challenge it
and then what they're gonna challenge
are they gonna challenge out at third or
they're gonna challenge that dj was
safe before judge was tagged out and you
can see while he's just standing there
waiting for his coach to hear
the decision you can hear voices of the
umpires i don't know if this is one
voice you're gonna hear
or two voices you're gonna hear but you
hear one umpire it sounds like two to me
you hear one umpire say
hey we get a heart out and then the next
one immediately goes that's it time's
out you're done
as soon as boone hears that he
immediately calls for a challenge
before even hearing from his coaches

stunned
as soon as boone heard the timer had
started he just said okay replay replay
replay we'll figure out what we're

afterwards and the guy just says nope
time was up and now boone
gets mad he says you can't do that you
