What Happened

In a thrilling extra-innings affair, Texas Rangers rookie Nick Solak etches his name in the history books with a dramatic walk-off home run in his major league debut. The bottom of the 11th inning is deadlocked at 3-3 when Solak, a 24-year-old second baseman, steps to the plate with a chance to end the game. The Rangers have a runner on second base after a successful stolen base. Texas manager Chris Woodward elects to have the veteran Elvis Andrus intentionally walked, bringing Solak to the plate as the potential hero. "I've played enough game[s], I'll give this kid a memory, I'll let him have the walk-off," says home plate umpire Ángel Hernández. On a 1-2 pitch, Solak crushes a towering fly ball deep to left field. The ball clears the wall, setting off a wild celebration as Solak's teammates rush to greet him at home plate. "Congrats, first home run, first walk-off, first time being shirtless on a major league baseball field," exclaims . "Dave full of first for Solak and that's exciting for everyone involved." The joyous Rangers players proceed to douse Solak in Gatorade, removing his jersey in the process. "Why dude, you're just gonna get wet? Why I put the shirt back on? Don't you know how Gatorade showers work?" questions, laughing at the scene unfolding. Solak, the former Yankees prospect who was traded to the Rays and then to the Rangers, has etched his name in franchise lore with an unforgettable debut. "One was Roosevelt's, they got nice shirts, they're comfortable, they're fun, they're enjoyable," says, promoting the sponsor.
