Kyle Seager hits 3 HRs, Murphy hits 2, cartwheels and embarrassment got involved, a breakdown

What Happened

Kyle Seager, the veteran third baseman for the Seattle Mariners, steps up to the plate in the first inning against left-hander Matthew Boyd of the Detroit Tigers. On the first pitch, Seager unloads and crushes a solo home run, sending the ball deep into the Detroit night. As Seager trots back to the dugout, his Mariners teammates greet him with their signature "washing machine" celebration, slapping him on the back and congratulating him on the big hit. Next up is Mariners catcher Tom Murphy, who follows Seager's lead by launching another solo shot off Boyd, making it back-to-back home runs for Seattle. As Murphy crosses home plate, he decides to spice things up, performing a lively cartwheel in front of the Mariners' dugout to celebrate the blast. The fun-loving Mariners once again welcome Murphy with their enthusiastic washing machine routine. Seager isn't done, however. In his second at-bat, he crushes another solo home run off the struggling Boyd, his second of the game. This time, Seager's Mariners teammates decide to skip the washing machine and simply bask in his power display. Murphy then steps up and goes deep again, hitting his second home run of the game to make it back-to-back-to-back jacks for the Mariners against Boyd. As Murphy crosses the plate, he treats the crowd to another entertaining cartwheel, much to the delight of his Mariners teammates. The Tigers' dugout, on the other hand, looks less than thrilled as their starter continues to get battered. In Seager's third at-bat, he once again unloads, driving a 2-1 pitch over the wall for his third home run of the game. The Mariners greet him with their biggest washing machine celebration yet, clearly feeding off the team's offensive outburst. The Tigers' Dixon Machado, playing left field, almost makes a spectacular catch on Seager's third homer, but the ball bounces off the wall and hits him square in the face, leading to an embarrassing moment for the young outfielder. The Mariners' offensive onslaught continues as Murphy is intentionally walked in his final plate appearance, denying him a chance at a third home run and another celebratory cartwheel.
