Guardian Pitcher hits Monkey Batter after an illegal bat inspection, a breakdown
What Happened
In a tense matchup in the Chinese Professional Baseball League, the Guardians pitcher Henry Sousa takes issue with the opposing batter's bat. After a radio communication confirms the bat is legal, Sousa still becomes increasingly aggressive, firing multiple inside pitches at the batter. The Guardians' catcher tries to diffuse the situation, telling his own dugout he doesn't want to hit the batter. However, on the fourth pitch, Sousa drills the batter in the backside. This sparks a benches-clearing brawl, with players from both teams shoving and confronting each other aggressively. The catcher, clearly frustrated, expresses that he didn't want Sousa to hit the batter. Despite the commotion, the batter appears unfazed and simply walks to first base. Afterwards, Sousa claims he was "sticking up for his teammates," though his attempt to spit on the field is described as "pathetic." The umpires ultimately decide not to eject any players, simply letting the teams continue the game. This incident comes in the top of the fourth inning, with the score tied and high stakes on the line. The two teams have a history of bad blood, adding further context to the confrontation. Fans in the stands watch intently as the benches clear and the players engage in the heated scuffle. "I'm not trying to hit him, this guy out there on the mound is so..." the Guardians catcher says, exasperated, trying to convey that he didn't want the beanball to happen. The batter, for his part, seems unbothered, simply taking his base after being hit. Emotions run high as the rival teams battle it out both on the field and in the dugouts. The umpires ultimately decide the best course of action is to simply let the game continue, rather than issuing any ejections in the heated moment. The incident highlights the intensity and competitiveness of this Chinese Professional Baseball League matchup.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentwe had a little bit of action this
morning in the Chinese professional
baseball league starts off with the male
cheerleader cheering in an airplane of
course it does but top of the fourth
inning double play ball this guy's
trying to impress the new national
audience he Boches it guy gets on base
and that's kind of big maybe he botched
it on purpose because he knew his team
was gonna protest that hitters bat yes
that bat illegal why I don't know oh
radios in hey yeah I got a bat here it's
got a human head on some sort of animal
body is this legal
yes that's legal okay cool legal no
problem then apparently the other team
the Guardians take offense to this but
first a nice play by the third baseman
just a nice play bases-loaded one out
guns down the runner on home takes the
angle gets the hop catcher secures the
bag ok some monkeys jacking off another
monkey's tail and back to the baseball
action we go because now pitcher Henry
Sousa goes inside more inside than the
third pitch even more inside apparently
they think this batter is the one that
said they were cheating so if you're
keeping track at home
first pitch inside second pitch inside
third pitch more inside something is
afoot
and he's looking around like why haven't
I hit him yet I was supposed to hit him
now the Doug art dugout start barking
and the catchers like what why you mad
at me and the hitter points at the
catcher and the catcher says don't point
at me it's not me I got nothing to do
with this I don't want to hit you we
don't do that in the CPL here you know
that it's [ __ ] him so now the catcher
is gonna turn to the dugout and yes he
is him it's not me and he's gonna squat
down he's gonna tell the dugout I'm not
trying to hit him this [ __ ] out there
on the mound is so in the fourth pitch
of course just drills him right in the
butt actually hit him in the pocket
where this dude has it looks like more
batting gloves even though he's are
wearing two already so maybe it didn't
even hurt it kind of made like a
plasticy sound but the bench is clear
because we've got a big oh what the hell
and what party going on just to what
what what
the [ __ ] what going on and then huge
aggressive push you see that I mean oh
my god just a huge push right out the
gates look at this all [ __ ] I mean oh my
god okay and that was it
batter doesn't care at all and the
catcher he surely doesn't care look at
him he's like god dammit I didn't want
to hit him and then they separate and
they go on their way and Sosa says I
stuck up for my teammates and then he
tries to hawk a big loogie but the
results are kind of pathetic and he's
gonna look around and be like oh [ __ ]
I hope no one saw how pathetic the end
result of that loogie was yeah yeah I
see that and they didn't and the umpires
get together and they say what should we
do and then they say let's just eject no
one and keep playing and that's what
they did
