What Happened

In a tense NL West matchup between the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers, right-handed pitcher Joe Kelly of the Dodgers faces off against star shortstop Fernando Tatís Jr. of the Padres. With the game hanging in the balance, Kelly struggles with his control, walking Tatís on four straight pitches to put him on first base. Padres outfielder Trent Grisham then hits a ground ball that finds its way through the infield, sending Tatís all the way to third base. However, Grisham is thrown out at second by Dodgers catcher Will Smith, leaving Tatís stranded at third with one out. Padres third baseman Manny Machado steps up next and pokes a ball to Smith, who makes the play at home to try and prevent Tatís from scoring. As Tatís attempts to score, he collides with Smith at the plate. Dodgers first baseman Max Muncy reaches out with his arms, seemingly trying to catch Tatís but ultimately unable to. Tatís is ruled out on the play, much to his confusion, as he appears to believe Smith was not allowed to block the plate before catching the ball. Afterward, Smith turns to Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly and says, "I made all three outs that inning. Good job." Kelly, however, remains silent, having not recorded any of the outs himself. Through this chaotic sequence, Tatís Jr. showcases his exceptional talent and aggression on the basepaths, but is ultimately thwarted by the Dodgers' defense. The young superstar has been tearing it up so far this season, batting .392 with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs in 11 games played. Fantasy managers would be wise to heed 's advice and add Tatís to their DraftKings lineups, using the "" for added value.
