Clint Hurdle Ejected After Replay Gets Call Wrong, a breakdown
What Happened
In a heated exchange during a Major League Baseball game, Pittsburgh Pirates manager Clint Hurdle is ejected after disputing a replay review call that he believes is incorrect. In the bottom of the inning, the opposing team's runner slides into the base and the umpire initially calls him out. However, the call is challenged and goes to a video replay review. Clint Hurdle, the Pirates' manager, strongly disagrees with the replay officials' decision to overturn the call and rule the runner safe. Hurdle approaches the umpire, arguing vehemently that the replay clearly shows the runner was tagged out. He contends that the umpire's original call was correct and that the replay officials have made a mistake in their evaluation. As Hurdle continues to express his frustration, the umpire ejects him from the game. Hurdle knows he is about to be thrown out and provokes the umpire, saying, "Throw me out, come on, just do it. Throw me out, throw me out of the game, okay? Because this is horseshit. We've got to stop because this is embarrassing, man." The video provides split-screen replays, allowing viewers to see both angles of the play. Hurdle points out that from one angle, it appears the runner may have been tagged, but when the two replays are synced up, it becomes clear that the runner was not actually tagged. Hurdle is baffled by the replay officials' decision, saying, "I have no idea what they looked at because they come out of replay and they say 'out.' What? That doesn't make any sense." The stakes are high in this game, as the Pirates are trying to secure a crucial win against a rival team. Hurdle's ejection is a testament to his passion for the game and his desire to ensure that the calls made on the field are accurate. The incident highlights the ongoing challenges and controversies surrounding the use of video replay in baseball, as officials sometimes struggle to make definitive decisions based on the available evidence. As Hurdle leaves the field, the game continues, with the Pirates hoping to overcome the setback and maintain their competitive edge in the division race.

Click timestamps to jump to that momentwe got a replay here that the UM in my
opinion got so wrong in Clint Hurdle's
opinion got wrong and he got objected
for saying so the up calls him out on
that play right there that up can't make
that call he has no angle on seeing if
he tagged and we're not kind of
ridiculous that we even let his call
matter in the grand scheme of things
here's the replay so I put both replays
side-by-side like they do in the replay
Center to see what they're looking at on
the left you can see the glove there's
no there's a sliver constant sliver
right there you might be like oh if
you're looking at just the left side
you'd be like maybe touches them
somewhere there but then when you sync
it up over here at the same exact time
you can clearly tell he's not touching
anything so I don't know what they
looked at I have no idea what they
looked at because they come out of
replay he's even grabbing for the ball
afterwards to try and make the play
as if he knows he didn't touch him and
they say out what that doesn't make any
sense
Clint says oh now I gotta come argue and
get it ejected what the hell that's the
hell walks up and it's kind of funny cuz
he knows he's getting eject I know throw
me out come on just do it
throw me out throw me out throw me out
of the game okay cuz this is horseshit
we got to stop because this is
embarrassing man Berra Singh man there's
no way he tagged him you saw it you saw
it you know as he can't argue with these
guys but he has no idea what replay
Center is doing and to be honest neither
do I on this one and neither disease
like he might touch that hand but that
doesn't count he came back here he he
missed me he missed
